Three weeks ago, we chose to close our doors to do our part in protecting the families we had planned to photograph, in addition to protecting our own family. While the announcement last week of the closure of all non-essential businesses until June 10th weighs heavy on our hearts, we need to do whatever is necessary to protect more people from getting sick. I am trying to see this period as a “Gift of Time” to do the things that have been put on the back burner or that I don’t typically have time to complete. While watching the news and seeing so many people struggle, I’ve also been thinking about what I can do to help. I am fortunate to be able to stay home at this time, but many others are not.
How Can We Help?
With Easter coming up very soon, I’ve been thinking about offering families an Easter-themed photo of their children. While we don’t offer Easter Mini Sessions, I know that many families love them and will not have the opportunity to take Easter photos this year. No worries, I’m not going to suggest a photo session. Instead, for Easter this year I will be offering composites like our ArtCafe Dreams:
How Can You Help?
If you are interested in an Easter-themed photo of your child, including bunnies, baby ducks, and baby chicks, I’d be happy to make this happen for you. All I’m asking for in return is a donation ($25 minimum) to support the local nurses and doctors at INOVA during a time when they are putting their own health and the health of their families on the line to help fight this virus.
You’ll receive an invoice from our studio, and I will donate 100% of the proceeds. I’m planning on purchasing gift cards from local restaurants for the first responders at Loudoun Hospital. All proceeds go directly towards providing meals for healthcare workers, and also help small local restaurants at the same time.
How Does It Work?
If you are part of the ArtCafe family and I photographed your child over the past months, let’s talk. If you’ve never been to our studio, but would like to help, I would love to speak with you as well. I will work with every family individually and provide you with a digital file of the final image. Digital files are normally not available for our storytelling sessions, but these are also not “normal times.”
If you are interested in an Easter-themed portrait of your child and would like to help support the hardworking local nurses and doctors at INOVA, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (703)728-4610. I’ll make this unique fundraiser available for the first 10 people who contact our studio. These kinds of portraits are very time consuming to create, and I want to ensure that I can provide a beautiful portrait to each of the first 10 individuals that are interested in contributing to the fundraiser.
