While social media and cellphone photos are a great way to capture all the fun moments of daily life, many people struggle to find that one great photo of their child from two months ago in a sea of hundreds of snapshots. Did you ever back up the beautiful photos from last year’s vacation since they are nowhere to be found? Families have lost years of memories due to hard drive crashes or lost phones.

Don’t get me wrong, being able to share photos with family and friends on social media is often the only way to connect with each other and a valuable resource. However, think about that gorgeous family portrait of you and your children that your grandchildren will cherish 40 or 50 years from now. Think of what your children’s storybook meeting Santa or building a magical snowman will mean to them when they are 30 or 40 years old. You may not think that far ahead, but I can tell you from experience how painful it can be when you look back one day and have no printed photographs of the milestones in your family’s journey.
